Getting started with PriLytics
Install the app, create a private account, load your statements, and read your whole portfolio. Work through the tabs left to right for setup, then the last tab for keeping everything current.
Create your account and save your recovery key
On first launch, create a local account with an email and a password. The password becomes the key that encrypts everything on your computer, and a one-time recovery key is shown right after sign-up.
- ✓ Pick an email and a password you will remember
- ✓ Your password encrypts all your data at rest
- ✓ Save the recovery key somewhere safe and offline
Import your mutual fund CAS
Request a Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) from CAMS or KFintech. It arrives by email as a password-protected PDF with every folio and transaction. Import it in PriLytics.
- ✓ Import the PDF and enter its password if it has one
- ✓ Every folio, scheme and transaction is read on your computer
- ✓ NAVs are fetched to value your holdings
- ✓ Your Portfolio, Performance and Capital Gains tabs fill in
Add your monthly portfolio disclosures
Each month your AMCs email a portfolio disclosure, the full list of what each fund holds. Import these in the Allocation tab so PriLytics can show your true asset mix instead of a category label.
- ✓ Import the monthly disclosure file for each fund you hold
- ✓ PriLytics reads through hybrids into real equity, debt and cash
- ✓ Your allocation donut reflects what your funds actually hold
Add your other investments
Open Other Investments to record everything beyond your mutual funds. Use the Products picker to show only the types you hold, and add each in a few fields. NPS has its own step, next.
- ✓ PPF and Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA): add contributions and dates
- ✓ Fixed and recurring deposits: add principal, rate and tenure
- ✓ Sovereign gold bonds and REITs: add units, price and distributions
Import your NPS statement, if you have NPS
NPS sits under Other Investments too, but it is imported rather than typed in. Download your NPS Transaction Statement (SoT) as a PDF from your CRA, Protean/NSDL or KFintech, and import it. Skip this if you do not hold NPS.
- ✓ Download the NPS transaction statement PDF from your CRA
- ✓ Holdings and contributions are read and checked against the statement's own totals
- ✓ Your NPS value, XIRR and scheme mix appear alongside everything else
Set goals and tag your funds
Create goals like retirement, a home or a child's education. Give each a target, then tag your mutual funds to it and watch the progress.
- ✓ Create a goal with a target amount and horizon
- ✓ Tag your mutual funds to it
- ✓ See progress, XIRR and whether the mix fits the timeline
Assign your other investments to goals
Funds are tagged in the Goals tab. Your other investments, NPS, PPF, deposits, gold and REITs, are linked from the dashboard, so each goal counts everything you hold for it, not just your funds.
- ✓ Open Goals and Allocation Health on the dashboard
- ✓ Use Assign OI to set how much of each investment counts toward a goal
- ✓ Each goal's progress now includes those holdings
Back up, and keep everything current
Once you are set up, these are the things you do from time to time to keep your account secure and your numbers up to date.
- ✓ Save an encrypted backup and restore it on a new computer or after a reinstall
- ✓ Change your password, reset it with your recovery key, or delete your account
- ✓ Refresh the Nifty 50 TRI benchmark from the Performance tab
- ✓ Re-import a fresh CAS or NPS statement whenever you transact
- ✓ Enter a NAV by hand if a live value is ever missing
Bring the whole family into one view
One login can hold a profile for each family member, each an independent, encrypted portfolio, brought together in one dashboard. It is coming soon as a capability of its own.
- ✓ A profile for each family member
- ✓ Every member has their own CAS and other investments, tracked separately
- ✓ The dashboard combines everyone into one picture
